The Loughs own and operate the Wilderness Collections Galleries, which feature the award-winning nature and landscape photography of Rodney Lough Jr., a Fuji Film Talent Team Member and a Yahoo Master Photographer. purpose:

Act as Web Designer for The Lough Road, Inc. Lead all web-related image and graphic design efforts, working under the direction of the Graphic Designer, and in close coordination with the Web, Merchandising and Marketing teams. We’re looking for a talented individual with web design skills who possesses strong HTML, PHP, SQL, Graphic Design, online movies and database driven Flash skills. This individual will be responsible for developing creative and producing site designs that enhance the online customer experience and carry forth the company branding in online mediums. Key responsibilities include rebuilding the e-commerce store and website from the ground up, the online gallery sections by developing homepage designs, micro-sites, user interfaces, flash movies, and email marketing efforts. Must have sense of urgency and the ability to meet tight deadlines on a regular basis. Video experience as well as strong coding experience, implementing and supporting dynamic e-commerce web pages is a must.



essential duties and responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include developing the site for creative, designing targeted based email programs that use dynamic linking to respond to specific offers, producing flash micro & macro-sites and creating graphics for all sections of TheLoughRoad.com. Our existing site is good, but we want great.



-Establishing a front-end design that is unique in terms of branding and sophistication yet in synch with the overall design of our brand.

-Creating a quasi AI User Interface (UI) that effectively merchandizes a wide range of products

-Modify and combine designs created by various business partners to create a cohesive, intuitive user experience for The Lough Road brand.

-Infusing our “earthy with class” positive energy into the UI

-Mock up of web pages to illustrate the nature of the experience

-Vision “what’s next” and act as team resource to develop concepts. Requires someone who understands that ‘ideas are a dime a dozen’ but finding someone who can actually implement the idea isn’t.

-Maintain knowledge of current trends, color and technology relevant to web and graphic design to enhance the overall effectiveness of the website experience for visitors and ultimately improve online sales.



qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



-Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related degree, plus minimum 5 years related professional experience in web design. (If you don’t have 5 years of experience we will also consider work you have accomplished if it is of truly exceptional quality.)

-Minimum of 5 years of web design experience with a design firm or as part of an in-house design department

-HTML, DHTML, PHP, SQL , and Flash with database hooks

-Excellent conceptualization and design ability

-Ability to take creative direction and work with other designers to incorporate branding

-Outstanding typographic skills is a must

-Must have a portfolio with current web and online advertising samples.

-Demonstrated proficiency on the Mac and PC, with expertise with Adobe CS Illustrator, Photoshop, Image Ready, InDesign and Dreamweaver.

-Must be familiar with online commerce, including secure shopping cart, check out, order tracking & status, email notification and all such online order related items.

-Flash experience required, database driven technologies within Flash also required.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to work on multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment, meeting tight deadlines, and reacting quickly and smoothly to changes.

-Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

-Must be a self-motivator.
