Looking for a place to live! We would like to find our own place but we're open to roommates, a house share, co op, or anything that seems to suit our needs best and with the right people. Sick to death of seeing NO COUPLES, NO KIDS! We decided to post our own ad, here, in housing wanted.





A little about us...





We're a young family! He is 22, I'm 21, and our daughter will be a year old soon. We recently moved here from North Carolina. After doing lots of traveling we decided to settle down for a while and have a baby. We didn't want to do it in Charlotte, NC where we're from. (due to it totally sucking ass out there). We always had a soft spot for Portland. So here we are.





Interest wise, we stick to sustainability, DIY house building, survivalism, gardening, travel and cooking. We're omnivores and we cook for ourselves and or baby nearly every night. We definitely dont mind cooking for a crowd. :) He is getting into welding, knife making, and bass guitar. I'm currently dabbling in knitting, diesel engines and drums. We both attended school back home and majored in anthropology.





We're polyamorous and lean pretty far into the D/s side of bdsm. Which is part of the reason we haven't really considered roommates before. We dislike the concept of explaining our sexuality and habits to someone who's entirely vanilla and going to think we're nuts. We felt obligated to include it here since its a big part of our lives and we wouldnt want it to be overlooked by someone looking for a roommate.





Music is a huge part of our lives. We focus primarily on punk, ska, oi and the like. He gets into a bit of reggae, I get into a lot of indie and small label hip hop. We go to shows. We read about it, talk about it and live it. Of course it bleeds into our political beliefs.. But lets stay away from politics.





We're experienced tile layers, drywall hangers, floor refinishers, and are well versed in most things regarding home remodeling and design. We are not scared of fixer uppers and in fact would LOVE to find a four or five bedroom home to renovate, fix up and start our own co-op in!





Work wise, He works in food service (line cook). I'm not working at the moment, though once we're settled into our new home, I'll be cruising for a barback/kitchen job. Its not necessity that has us in the service industry. More of a penchant for busy-ness and excitement, that we cant find in an office. Not to mention our fairly unconventional appearances kind of keep us from qualifying for cubical jobs.





We're looking to live in SE. Though right now we're very close to being in between places to live. (Our lease ends this week) We've been accepted at a few complexes but are trying to hold out to the bitter end for a place with a yard. (even if it means living in our car) We're more than capable financially to acquire a place and wait it out there, but we just hate the idea of moving our stuff so much. Its in storage now.
