We have an immediate need for a Technical Writer to work for a small business owner who specializes and is highly well known in the gaming industry. Prefer to have someone start by October 2007.
DESCRIPTION:
Technical Writer needed to work with detailed technical content and some policy & procedure materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an interest in Web standards, and will be proficient in Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat applications.
Immediate need is for maintenance and update of existing material in FrameMaker format, much of which is related to one or more Web standards. Technical Writer will update materials based on requests received internally and from SMEs internationally, follow defined policies and procedures for project life-cycles.
Long-term: the successful candidate will have opportunities to work on a variety of developing projects, writing or editing, depending on needs. Depending on abilities, may expand to include web content/application maintenance, design, and/or development.
REQUIRED:
** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor.
** Self-driven, very detail-oriented, able to work independently and as a team member.
** Solid, recent experience with Adobe FrameMaker (a MUST) and Acrobat.
** Technical writing experience (1 - 3 yrs) in software applications/systems/networks.
** Preference shown for candidates with an understanding of XML-related standards. However, recent experience with other Web standards or programming/scripting languages will also be considered.
DESIRED: Proficiency in MS Office applications strongly desired. Skills such as single-sourcing, online help development, project management, web development, or [fill in the blank] will certainly be considered a plus.
