PUBLICATION FORMATTER – Temporary Position


The Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) is a growing non-profit organization committed to improving K-12 academic student learning throughout the nation. School teachers and administrators use this information to accurately determine individual student instructional needs, tailor lessons and design school improvement plans. POSITION SUMMARY

The Publication Formatter supports the work of the Test Production Services Team including item development and test production. The positions are available on a temporary basis through June 2008. Positions range from six weeks to eight months and require a minimum of 20 hours per week. Full-time and part-time positions are open. Shifts are available between 7:30am – 5:00pm and flexible schedules are offered. These positions are temporary and not eligible for benefits. Pay is $11.00 per hour.


This position reviews all test items for accuracy and appropriate display, builds tests and performs quality assurance review which includes maintaining consistent item formatting guidelines. The Publication Formatter also creates item script components using HTML, integrates media, and collaborates with the Audio Specialist to coordinate development of audio and video components in the item development process.


QUALIFICATIONS

Strong candidates for this position are perfectionist in nature, highly detail-oriented, and able to apply consistent and scalable techniques in all publication activities. They are self motivated, problem-solvers who enjoy having clear measurable goals. They also have at least two years of office or similar work experience and two years experience working with Microsoft Office products.
