Bus Driver/ & care & support to young children

The Children's Relief Nursery is hiring a bus driver for young children, infants and toddlers through age three and their parents. Children attend a half day classroom either AM or PM. The Children's Relief Nursery serves the St.Johns community and all routes are within our service boudnaries.

Job responsibilities include: determinig bus routes to and from the Nursery, performing a daily vehicle check and adjusting car seats according to the route needs, documenting daily mileage and inspections on a log, confirming that children have necessary forms prior to beginning transporting, maintaining attendance log at each stop, stay current with Oregon seat belt and transportation laws and coordinate pick up and drop off with the bus assistant assigned to each route.

Tnis is a 32 hour position Monday through Thursday and includes one monthly Friday meeting (usually 2 hours on the first Friday of the month).Typical work hours are between 7:30 and 4:30.

There are opportunities to assist with young children in the classrooms or provide program support with preparing activities, clean up, set up, serving nutritious meals to children or any number of flexible possibilities in a non-profit, child and family service oriented program. Staff trainings on early childhood education, social emotional well being, supporting families with difficult lilfe circumstances, brain development and more may be participated in if interested.

Qualifications include CDL issued by the State of Oregon; background check and CCD (Child Care Division)registry. Conditional hire possible pending getting Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge and experience with young children is a plus.
