The Portland Metro Habitat ReStore is looking for a new Customer Service/Volunteer Coordinator. This is a 30 hour per week position that helps the ReStore coordinate our volunteers by overseeing and building our volunteer cashier program [this includes running the register when no volunteers are available], assisting the other staff with finding new ways to utilize volunteers, and overseeing our tradeshows and displays. Hours are during the day, Tuesday through Friday.



The ReStore is a building material re-use center. We sell donated materials to help build more homes for families in need. To date our store has raised almost a ½ million dollars right here in Portland. We also divert about 950 tons of materials per year from the waste stream. There are presently over 500 ReStores throughout the US and many more in the planning stages. This is a new and quickly growing enterprise that has plenty of room for growth and challenge throughout the country.



We do this all with a small staff and many volunteers. Right now the Portland ReStore has about 700 hours a month in volunteer time and our hope and need is to increase that to 1000. This position is a key part of that development and works with Habitat families, community service volunteers, and a great bunch of our regular volunteers that just love to come in every week and help out.



Habitat for Humanity has built over 200 homes here in Portland; we hope to build many more and the ReStore is a vital part of that hope. We are growing, and we need your help.
